Question: Gears do not engage right away when after shifting from park
My 2002 VW Jetta intermittently fails to catch the gear when I either shift from park into 1st or park into reverse. If I am on a hill, it is most noticeable because the car rolls down the hill even when it is in gear. I have to engage the break while accelerating to avoid crashing into another car if parked parallel.
